Nami was created through a course during my education in Cross Media Interaction Design. The assignment was to, in groups, create a business model of any business the group chose. We chose to create a model of a business supplying a game streaming service that would let its customers stream games on (nearly) any device, such as a TV or a laptop. The target group for this service was people without powerful gaming hardware available to them but with an interest in gaming nonetheless.

Grindhouse is a concept of a melting pot for a new project within Umeå University. The assignment was part of a project management course and gave us a very open brief. Grindhouse is an event which invites people locally, nationally, and internationally to come and listen to conferences, similar to TED Talks or Creative Summit. The kicker with Grindhouse is that it invites to workshops, as well as conferences, where people can sit down and actually work on their ideas with people, guests or lecturers.

Kulturväven is a project in Umeå regarding the culture house in close collaboration with the culture capital 2014 award that Umeå was given. The project focused on developing a concept for interactive walls that would be placed inside the culture house of Umeå. The screens are meant to be there for the visitors of the building and in extension help them navigate information such as events being held in the culture house but also in the town of Umeå. The concept focused such on a touch based interface, exploring how one can take it from being a very private interaction as it is today, to a more open and public interaction.

The building is tightly connected to the city of Umeå and thus takes inspiration from the nature around Umeå by incorporating the birch tree that is some way of a symbol for the city. We felt that this could be taken one step further and chose to implement something very iconic of the north; the aurora borealis. This was represented in the background of these walls, swirling and moving slowly to make the room feel alive.

TING is a marketing campaign made to promote the game festival Nordsken in Skellefteå. It is essentially an alternate reality game posing as a treasure hunt, where players track down QR-codes and scan them with their mobile phones. When scanned, these QR-codes represent an item.

The QR-codes were strategically placed throughout the city of Skellefteå and the surrounding counties. The physical location where the game festival were held also had a lot of QR-codes for the players to scan. The game became widely appriciated by the players and they found it fun to take a break during the tournaments at the game festival to go hunt some QR-codes.

Surfaces is a ubiquitous computing concept which brings together fiction and fun. The concept is part of an assignment at the masters program Cross Media Interaction Design and it was developed by a team of four people. The key part of the assignment was to envision a device that blended in to our every day lives in a transparent matter while supporting us with various information.

The team envisioned something that could be used both for work support but also for fun. We imagined key surfaces around us being aware of us and being able to give us feedback on our behavior and on our devices such as mobile phones, computers and even analog things such as coffee mugs – thus acting as an extension of our devices and our selves.

Vakna upp is a short movie that was made as an assignment during my bachelor years within Digital Media Production in Umeå. The idea of the movie was to show how we might want our world to be and how those thought can be so very different from how the reality really is. Essentially it is about the daydreams of a very unfocused and stressed student.

As it was a group assignment I worked with two other students from the class and as it was such a small group, everyone had to take on the central roles in the production at some stage.

Museum Anna Nordlander is a local museum in Skellefteå which has in the past adapted themselves to a could feeling as they did not have a physical place to call their own. They wanted to become visible on the Internet as well to enable for discussion. We developed a brand strategy and web concept in teams of two.

The keywords for the website and the brand were simple yet elegant, yet simple. The website would be very easy to administrate and moderate for the company, with the use of Facebook connectivity and a solid backend foundation.
